Prague Sweep

The Rangers completed a 2 game sweep of Tampa Bay yesterday winning 2-1 for the second day in a row. Once again the Rangers dominated in shots, outshooting Tampa 39-19, but once again struggled to score. Wade Redden, who was signed to help the power play, scored a big power play goal to tie the game at one with 16:13 left in the second period. Scott Gomez scored the game winning goal with 12:12 left in the second.
For the second day in a row the Rangers scored only 2 goals on 39 shots as Olie the goalie had an amazing game. For the second day in a row Hendrik Lundqvist had an pretty good game. His stellar performances have been overshadowed by the Rangers great offensive dominance, but he desrves credit for holding the Lightning to only 1 goal in both games.

Season Opener

The Rangers topped the Lightning 2-1 in their season opener earlier today. Marcus Naslund came through scoring the first goal and Brandon Dubinsky followed up later with a game winning power-play goal. The Rangers outshot the Lightning 41 to 21 and were in total control the whole game. Smith played a great game for Tampa giving up only 2 goals on 41 shots. So we got the win today, hopefully they'll finish their chances more often and give themselves a little breathing room. We'll see what happens tommorow when the Rangers and Lightning are back it once again in Prague.
